Indian turns millionaire in Dubai

R Ghumaliya, a construction worker in UAE, won Rs 12 lakh in a raffle conducted by the Dubai post office.

Life will never be the same for Ramji Valji Ghumaliya, an Indian construction worker in the United arab Emirates (UAE) who won Rs 12 lakh (1 lakh Dirhams ) in a raffle conducted by the post office here.

Ramji (45), who has been working in Al Ain for the past eight years, bought a post card from the Emirates Post Office here which won him the Post Card Millionaire draw.

"It came as a pleasant surprise when my ticket was picked as the winning number. I am very excited and will use my prize money to provide better educational opportunities for my children," said the delighted worker, currently employed at Al Fahjan a contracting company in Al Ain.

A large number of Indians are among the winners of various raffles being conducted here.
