An Indo-Bangla ministerial level team will visit different parts of south Tripura ahead of talks between the two countries to be held in Dhaka on June 13.

Union Minister for Water Resource, Saifuddin Soz and his Bangladesh counterpart Hafizuddin will visit disputed areas of Sabroom and Belonia subdivisions in south Tripura district on June 7 for an on-the-spot assesment before the Dhaka talks, Tripura Water Resource Minister, Badal Chaowhury told reporters in Agartala on Sunday.
Soz will hold a high level meeting with the concerened officials in Kolkata on Monday to work out the strategy of the proposed meeting, Chowdhury said.
He said work for construction of 14 lift irrigation projects in Sabroom subdivision in the state has been stopped following objections from the Bangladesh Rifles (BDR).
The BDR has also been opposing cultivation by Indian farmers at char (sand-dune) of the River Muhuri in Belonia suddivision of the district since 1965, he said adding that all these problems would come up for discussion at the Dhaka meeting.
