Siddiqui was on a two-day visit to the State capital recently. He interacted with Shia PG Degree College and Lucknow University students. He also shared with the students his own experiences as an immigrant growing up in America and being educated there at the primary secondary and tertiary level. Siddiqui explained in detail the teaching, learning and evaluation processes applied at American universities.
However, several students stumped Siddiqui with their questions in the interactive session. One such query was why students of Indian origin after completing their higher studies in the US do not come back?
Siddiqui explained to an applause that it was not money that stopped students from returning to India. “Why don’t you understand that even while staying in the US, students from keep trying their best to work for the development of Indian citizens. Today, Indians hold key positions in the US Government!”
Siddiqui, who is also a Cultural Counsel at the US Embassy in India, promised every possible help to city students to avail opportunities for going to the US and studying there. He also met Shailendra Singh, the 13-years-old BCA student at the Computer Science Department and was appreciative of the talented kid.
He encouraged him to work hard and improve his TOFEL and GMAT grades after which he would be able to go for a scholarship to study in the US.
