Indore Bagan, Bharat Club win matches

INDORE BAGAN Sporting Union and Bharat Club Jaipur have sailed in to the second round of Rameshchandra Sharma Memorial All India Gold Cup football tournament organised by Central Gymkhana Club played at Christian College grounds today. In the first match Indore Bagan showed their class against Mhow Cant, Mhow and never allowed their forwards to charge over the Bagan half.

INDORE BAGAN Sporting Union and Bharat Club Jaipur have sailed in to the second round of Rameshchandra Sharma Memorial All India Gold Cup football tournament organised by Central Gymkhana Club played at Christian College grounds today. In the first match Indore Bagan showed their class against Mhow Cant, Mhow and never allowed their forwards to charge over the Bagan half.

Bagan forwards played with good understanding and put pressure on Cant defence. Experienced Raman Verma beat the Cant defence to net the ball to give his team a 1-0 lead.

At the fag end of the game Bagan players accelerated their moves and Imran and Saiful scored to give their team a 3-0 win to sail in to the second round.

In the second match Jaipur team took full advantage of the height difference between its players and those of Raj Mohalah XI and tackled the local forwards with ease.

Dharmendra Khare of Raj Mohalah tried his best but did not get good support from teammates and Bharat Club was in command throughout the match but could not score in the stipulated time and the match was decided by penalty shoot out.

In the tie breaker Jaipur players were more perfect than their opponents and won the match 3-1 to advance in the tournament.

Tomorrow: Mhow Football Club would meet Royal Club Indore while in the second match M P Police, Bhopal would meet Rovers Sports Club Ratlam.
