Promoters of micro, small and medium enterprises gave shape to a body —Micro Small and Medium Enterprise Confederation — to protect the interests of their sector.

A meeting of representatives of industry associations from all over the state was held on Saturday at Udyog Vihar in which 85 entrepreneurs from Gurgaon, Kundli, Manesar, Rohtak, Bahadurgarh, Panipat and Rai participated.

The representatives discussed the issues pertaining to the sector and criticised the “apathy” of the Haryana State Industries and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) and Power utilities. “We have just formed the association, executive members and their designations, responsibilities will be decided later,” said Col (retd) Raj Singla, a member of the association.

The representatives criticised the policy of HSIIDC as totally anti-industry. “Small industries are being deprived of power, and demands of extreme undue nature are being created to raise bills running into lakhs, which was beyond the capacity of small entrepreneurs,” said Man Mohan, another member.
