A group of about six terrorists had sneaked into the Indian territory via LoC in Tarkundi forward belt in Rajouri from Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) in the wee hours on Monday, the officials said.

After intercepting the infiltrators, security personnel exchanged fire with them in which four terrorists were killed, while others fled back to the Pakistani side, they said, adding there was no loss of life on the Indian side.

The identity of the terrorists and their affiliation with any outfit was being ascertained, the officials said, adding they all appeared to be foreign terrorists.

During search operation in the area, the troops recovered four AK rifles along with 21 magazines, 310 rounds of ammunition, four UBGL, nine hand grenades, one wireless set, one antenna and three wire cutters, they said.

This was the fifth infiltration bid foiled in the last ten days, they said.

Earlier, three infiltrating terrorists were killed near LoC in Sabre Gali area of Mendhar belt of Poonch district on May 30.
