Inflation at 4.14% in year to Feb 18

India's wholesale price inflation is forecast at 4.14 per cent for the 12 months to Feb 18, higher than the previous week's 4.02 per cent, a poll of 10 analysts showed on Thursday.

The government is expected to release the data at 12 pm (0630 GMT) on Friday.

Analysts said a rise in manufacturing prices and overall strong growth in the economy were behind expectations for an uptick in inflation.

The WPI is more closely watched than the consumer price index because it has a higher number of products in its basket and is published weekly. The CPI is released monthly.

India's central bank on Jan. 24 raised the benchmark reverse repo rate by a quarter percentage point to 5.5 percent, citing inflation risks from rising asset prices.
