IPods go photographic
Apple Computer launched a slimmed-down range of its principal iPod music players.
Apple Computer on Tuesday launched a slimmed-down range of its principal iPod music players that now all come equipped with photo capability on a colour screen.

In addition to the iPod mini range and the recently launched iPod "shuffle", Apple said that from now the bigger players are available only in 20 gigabyte (GB) and 60GB versions.
Previously there was a 40GB model, and a line of iPods that lacked the ability to store and show photos in colour.
Apple also unveiled a new version of its iTunes desktop software that enables users automatically to download the latest episode of their favourite audio broadcasts to their iPod -- a process known to fans as "podcasting".
"iPod customers love to enhance their listening experience with colour," said Greg Joswiak, Apple's vice president of iPod product marketing.
"By simplifying our iPod lineup to include 20GB and 60GB models with colour screens and the new podcast menu, iPod and iTunes provide the world's easiest and appealing way to discover, subscribe, manage and listen to podcasts," he said.
The new models went on sale worldwide Tuesday priced at a recommended 299 dollars for the 20GB iPod and at 399 dollars for the 60GB one.
