The road was cleared only after a cane charge by the police in which five women were injured. Some police personals also received injuries in the incident.

According to reports, irked over the death of a local youth who was crushed by a train locomotive on Wednesday near Sattani, the resident of Channi village near Sattani on the outskirts of the town held a protest against Northern Railways and the district administration.

The protesters were advised by the police to clear the road, but agitated females started throwing stone that led to mild cane-charge. The injured were later shifted to the district hospital for treatment.

Protesters alleged that the administration and railways failed to fulfill their demand to fence the railway tracks near the village. They alleged that in the absence of fencing, many people had lost their lives. They had approached to the authorities concerned but nothing had been done so far, alleged the residents.
