They were protesting against the irregularities in the voter list and location of polling booths at far-away places for the forthcoming civic election.

The agitators lifted the road blockade after the city magistrate assured them of taking appropriate action in the matter.

According to reports, Bahujan Samaj Party leader Gyan Singh Patel and former corporator Shiv Sevak Singh flayed the administration for setting up polling booths at far-away places.

Besides, the agitators alleged that some names were deleted from the voter list. On receiving the news of road blockade, the city magistrate and a large number of policemen rushed to the spot.

He urged the protesters to lift the blockade.

He assured the agitators of forwarding their complaint to the State Election Commission.
