Italian photojournalist Gabriele Torsello has been freed in Afghanistan after three weeks in captivity, a website reported on Friday.

"Gabriele Torsello is free," said www.peacereporter.net, which has links to an Italian-run hospital in the southern Afghan province of Helmand where the photojournalist had been staying before he was seized on October 12.
