The 300-km long Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, the only surface link connecting Kashmir to the rest of the country, was reopened on Thursday for the vehicular traffic after clearance of the landslides in Ramban district, officials said.
The highway was reopened on Thursday and over 1000 stranded vehicles were allowed to move towards their respective destinations in Jammu and Srinagar after Border Roads Organisation (BRO) cleared the landslides in Seri-Ramban area, they said.
Heavy rains had triggered landslides in Seri-Ramban areas on the highway yesterday leaving over 1000 vehicles stranded on the highway, they said.
