The board said that officers? involved in ?Janta Dhoti scam? would be prosecuted soon. It also discussed many important issues along with other routine issues in yesterday?s meeting in Lucknow.

This was informed by the managing director of UP Handloom Corporation Shyam Lal, while talking to Hindustan Times here today. He said all the seven cases put up for the reinstatement of sacked employees, were once again rejected by the board.
According to sources, regional marketing manager KA Azmi, assistant general manager SN Singh Yadav and manager production SA Shamshi appealed against the voluntary retirement scheme. Four depot managers Insan Ali, BC Nadiyal, GB Durga Pal, and VK Awasthi were terminated from the service at the board meeting.
It is worth mentioning that board meeting was scheduled on February 20, however it was postponed to February 21. According to sources, meeting was attended by the five members out of ten, they were chairperson, MD, director of industries Chanchal Kumar Tiwari, representative of Public Enterprises JP Tiwari and special secretary UP Handloom RC Dua.
The other issues brought before the board were discussion on balance sheet of year 2004 and 2005. Purchase proceedings under Deendyal Hathkargha Yojna, a revival scheme for ailing Handloom Corporation aided by State and Central government.
The matter pertaining to court cases along with auction of old vehicles was considered. A plan to chalk out progress of the corporation was also discussed.
In the meantime employees expressed their satisfaction over the attitude of their MD in board meeting and said that his positive commitment would encourage the employees of the corporation.
