Jaundice, Hepatitis-B raging in city

A SIXTY-year-old resident of Dharamvir Marg in Sulem Sarain reportedly died due to jaundice on Saturday. Several other residents of the area are also suffering from jaundice and Hepatitis-B.

A SIXTY-year-old resident of Dharamvir Marg in Sulem Sarain reportedly died due to jaundice on Saturday. Several other residents of the area are also suffering from jaundice and Hepatitis-B.

According to sources, Ram Prasad Shukla, a resident of Dharamvir Marg was suffering from jaundice from the past few days.

Later, the doctors diagnosed him as suffering from Hepatitis-B.

On Saturday, his condition worsened and he died.

The other residents of the locality informed at least 18 others in Jayantipur and Ramman ka Purwa were suffering from jaundice and Hepatitis-B.

They also complained of contaminated water supply from the Jal Sansthan.
It may be recalled 20 daysago as many as two dozen residents of the same area were found suffering from jaundice and Hepatitis-B.

The dozer through which water is chlorinated had not been functioning for the past three months. However, later the Jal Sansthan changed the dozer.

The health department’s team also distributed chlorine tablets to the
residents.
