Jawan held for trespassing in Rajouri

The jawan trespassed with the intension of molesting a woman in Thanamandi area of Rajouri district.

A jawan of Territorial Army (TA) was arrested on charge of trespassing the house of a civilian with an intension to molest a woman in Thanamandi area of Rajouri district in the state, police sources said in Jammu on Monday.

Accused Mohammad Zubaid allegedly entered the house of Moulvi Talib on Sunday while his daughter-in-law was alone, they said adding she raised an alarm after the jawan allegedly tried to make advances towards her.

Villagers who gathered at the house after hearing the woman's cries for help thrashed Zubaid and locked him in a room.

Police later visited the spot and arrested the accused, sources said and added the jawan has been booked and investigations were on.
