Jaya Bachchan changes name?

Film actress Jaya Bachchan, who filed her nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha bypolls on Thursday, has changed her name to Bachchan Jaya Amitabh.

In the affidavit filed with the nomination form, Bachchan's name has been mentioned as Bachchan Jaya Amitabh which has been certified by a notary, Uttar Pradesh assembly sources said in Lucknow on Friday.

Her husband and matinee idol Amitabh Bachchan was also mentioned as Bachchan Amitabh in the form, the sources said.

The change in name is being attributed to 'astrological considerations' as the earlier name apparently did not suit Jaya and she had to face disqualification from the upper house in the wake of the office-of-profit controversy.
