Addressing the meeting at the dharna site, JD(U) district president Indra Bahadur Singh criticised the Mulayam Singh Yadav government for serving its own interests in connivance with the industrialists while ignoring the sufferings of farmers, labourers and the down-trodden. The State government had no right to remain in power any more, he said.

Speaking on the occasion, JD(U) Youth leader Faizi Razi Khan said that Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh was responsible for the present situation of the State.

Amar Singh had misused the financial resources of the State to facilitate the industrialists, leading to financial crisis in the State, he added.

State Secretary of JD(U) Zubair Ahmed said that the State government was working under the influence of dacoits and mafia due to which SSP’s post in Allahabad had remained vacant for two months in Allahabad.

Meanwhile, former Inspector General of Police CP Singh took the membership of JD(U) on the occasion. Many leaders of the party expressed their views, including Mohd Khalid, Anand Singh, Parmeshwar Mishra and Mohd. Abrar among others.
