From April onwards, 1149 patients were brought here from various districts of the division and 2003 patients died at medical college. Three hundred eight patients from Gorakhpur district were admitted to medical college and 51 succumbed to the disease. Beside this, 267 patients were brought here from Kushinagar and 48 of them died during the treatment. From Maharajganj district, 158 patients were admitted and 27 succumbed to the diseases. Similarly, from Deoria, 107 patients were admitted to medical college and 15 died.
The inflow of patients continued but medical college officials along with district administration turned a blind eye to the plight of the patients.
