Jharkhand police kill six Maoist militants in forest encounter

Six militants of the banned Maoist Communist Centre were killed in Ravaiba Badaru forest in extremist-hit Chatra district of Jharkhand.
Six militants of the banned Maoist Communist Centre (MCC) were killed in an encounter with police in Ravaiba Badaru forest in Jharkhand's extremist-hit Chatra district on Wednesday, police said.

Superintendent of Police Abdul Gani Mir said that acting on a tip-off, police went to the forest to rescue Jaichand Singh abducted by the extremists on November 17.
In the ensuing encounter, six MCC ultras were killed on the spot and police rescued Singh.
A huge cache of firearms was recovered from the encounter site, Mir said.
The bodies of the slain extremists were sent to Sadar hospital in Chatra for postmortem.
