JLN College in final of all-India hockey

THE JAWAHAR Lal Nehru PG College Bhopal will take on Jalandhar in the final of the All India Champions College Hockey Tournament at Delhi on Saturday.

In the semifinal played on Friday, Bhopal outfit defeated Patiala 3-0. The Bhopal team dominated from the very beginning of the game. Irfan Ali opened the account for the team in the seventh minute of the match.

He netted the ball through penalty corner. Ausaf-ur-Rehman consolidated the score in the 24th minute by a beautiful field goal. First half ended with the scoreboard 2-0 in favour of Jawahar Lal Nehru College.

Shahbaz Khan scored the third goal of the match in the 47th minute to complete the tally.

According to the Bhopal team’s coach Habib Hasan, Bhopal will score a convincing win over Jalandhar in the final. “We will win the tournament”, declared Habib.
