Johnny Depp to shoot Pirates 4 from June
Johnny Depp will begin shooting Walt Disney's fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie by June of 2010. Depp is the only member from the original cast to sign for this one as Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley declined to do another 'Caribbean.'
"Everything's fine. We're moving forward. We hope to start in June, and Rob Marshall's set to direct," film's producer Jerry Bruckheimer said.
The filmmaker confirmed Depp is on board for the movie, saying, "No deals have been made yet, other than Johnny's. We'll make those decisions later and let you know."
The future of the franchise looked uncertain after Depp expressed his disappointment over the departure of Disney Chairman Dick Cook. Depp is the only member of the original cast to come for the fourth movie as actors Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley declined to do another 'Caribbean'.
The film, named Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, will reportedly follow Depp's much loved character Jack Sparrow in his quest to find the Fountain of Youth. He will team up with Captain Barbossa in order to "defeat some supernatural terror", Ace Showbiz reported.
Terry Rossio and Ted Elliott write the script for the movie, which is set to release on May 20 in 2011.
