Oscar wining actress Julia Roberts is reportedly in talks to star with Tom Hanks in a new drama.

According to ananova.com, she is in early talks with director Mike Nichols for the role in Charlie Wilson's War. Roberts will star opposite Tom Hanks who is also co-producing the film.

Hanks had revealed last year that he would play Charlie Wilson, a rogue Texas Congressman who oversaw the secret funding of the Afghan rebels in their battle against the Soviet Union.

Roberts will play Joanne Herring, a beautiful Texas socialite who influenced Wilson to support the rebel cause.
