Delivering a lecture on ‘Sant Kabir and Bhakti Andolan’ at DAV Degree College here on Monday, Prof Yadav said Kabir’s couplets helped the Hindu and Muslim communities to rise against the imperial power to ensure social and political changes in the country.
He further said although Kabir received no formal education, he had enormous practical knowledge.
The Bhakti Andolan instilled in the downtrodden community a spirit to fight against social injustice, he added.
DAV Degree College vice-principal Dr GC Bannerjee felicitated the speaker while Dr Jitendra Nath Mishra welcomed the guests.
Dr Manik Chandra Pandey conducted the programme while Dr Heera Lal Pandey proposed the vote of thanks.
