Kalmadi re-elected Asia Athletics President

According to AAA Secretariat in Singapore, of the 44 nations affiliated to AAA, 36 have unanimously supported Kalmadi's candidature, an Athletics Federation of India release said on Wednesday.

His re-election is in recognition of the work he has done in the last term to develop athletics in the continent, it added.

"With the world looking towards Asia for better performances, particularly after Athens, it will be AAA's job to keep focus on Asian athletes as next Olympics is in Asia (Beijing)," Kalmadi said.
