Karnataka Govt in crisis, JD(S) withdraws support

The Congress government in Karnataka is likely to fall with the withdrawal of support by the Janata Dal (S).

Deve Gowda's son Kumaraswamy on Wednesday met the Karnataka Governor and handed over the letter for withdrawal of support to the state government. Fourty five MLAs accompanied Kumarasamy as he met the Governor.

An emergency Cabinet meeting has been convened to assess the crisis.

BJP is likely to extend support to Kumaraswamy to form new government in Karnataka.

According to reports, the Congress party is meeting at 10 Janpath to discuss the Karnataka crisis.
