Meant for the gypsies at heart, the clothes were evocative of nostalgic moments and warm memories of times spent in far away foreign lands. Made of a myriad fabrics like chiffons, georgettes, silks, and knits, the silhouette was kept simple with lean and narrow lines. Long straight skirts with thigh high slits predominated, and were given interesting treatments like layering, patchwork, horizontal paneling, and appliqué.
It's hard to decide which was better, the jewel toned bustiers with contrasting appliqué or floral printed halters with pencil skirts. Extremely glamourous, the line was definitely young, unlike most glam outfits which tend to border on 'timeless' and 'classic' which basically is a euphemism for 'old'.
The colours were very regal and elegant -- deep violets, plush rani, majestic gold and royal blues and the fabrics kingly--satins, velvets, and silks. Yet, the youth element was evident in the sexy cuts and glam styles.
If there was something that made the evening less-than-perfect, it was the repetitive element in the collection. Although very chic, one did get bored seeing the same pencil skirts and bustiers over and over again.
