"Is Ahmed's continuation in the ministry justifibale since IUML has said that its has concerns about the nuclear deal", Achuthanandan told repoters after a cabinet meeting in Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday.

Achuthanandan, however, said there was no question of IUML being made a partner in the LDF even if it snapped ties with the Congress.

The Left's stand on parties like IUML is very clear that it would ahve not ANY truck with communcal and casteist forces of any hue, he said.

The chief minister said the Left was ready to face elections if it was thrust upon the country by the government's 'eagerness' to go ahead with the nuclear deal.

The Marxist leader said the Left withdrew support to UPA as Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had breached the assurances given to the supporting block earlier.
