An official press release said that 30 doctors had reported for duty at the Pathanamthitta District Medical Office.

It said that rural health centres of medical colleges would function in Sanidhanam, Pamba, Erumelli, Appachimedu and Pathanamthitta general hospitals during the pilgrimage season.

The doctors are on a work-to-rule agiation, demanding among other things revision of their basic pay scale at the entry level itself.
