While the reel-life friends of Sholay fought against a dacoit, the real-life duo are abetting crime. Two criminals, Vaibhav Mishra and Dharmendra Katiyar, who were arrested by the Panki police on Sunday morning, named these two notorious constables who encouraged them to carry out criminal activities.

Besides, they never put on their uniform even though they are on duty. However, both of them never forget to carry their service revolvers. They wear similar clothes, shoes, wrist watches et al.

They are so influential that both the constables are posted in the city for the past ten years and at the same police chowki or police station.

Though attempts were made to transfer the duo to different police stations, the efforts came to naught.

In fact, the famous song of Sholay, 'Yeh dosti hum nahin toderenge', is very much applicable to these constables. This was clearly evident recently. On receiving several complaints, the then SO of Kakadeo police station RK Singh transferred them to Sajeti and Kakavan police stations, respectively.

But, barely after ten days of the transfer, both of them returned to the Kakadeo police station. But, the story did not end here. The SO who dared to take action against them was himself transferred.

Unlike the two Sholay friends, these cops do not run short of money. They have three oil tankers, a Toyota Qualis and a motorcycle, Also, they are allegedly involved in petrol and diesel adulteration incidents in Panki.

Yadav, who hails from Etawah, is staying at the infamous Kishori Hotel at Sarvodaya Nagar for the past five years and Mishra, resident of Kanpur city, is staying at Vishnupuri with his family members.

Talking to the Hindustan Times, DIG Kanpur Range Daljeet Chaudhary said, “An inquiry into the charges against both the constables will be conducted. If the charges are found correct, they will face the music.”
