Narsingh came into limelight when he clinched gold medal in the 2010 Asian Championship.
He followed the performance with a gold at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi. Since then, he has been a regular face in the Indian squad. Narsingh took to the sport in Mumbai and later joined the local Sports Authority of India (SAI) hostel. He secured his maiden Olympic berth by making it to the final of the last qualifying event in Helsinki, Finland.
"My father wanted me to be a wrestler and now that I have qualified, he wants me to be an Olympic medallist," says Narsingh with a glint in his eyes.
"My training for the London Games is going as per schedule and though I know that the field will be extremely challenging, but I will give my best," he adds.
