The Income-Tax authorities on Tuesday grilled former Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda, who is facing charges of money laundering and amassing illegal assets worth Rs 2,000 crore.

On Tuesday, Koda’s questioning started at 2 pm and continued till late night. An IT official, who did not want to be identified, said Koda was asked about his investments, the reasons for his trips to the Europe, his allotment of mines and links with people like Binod Sinha and Sanjay Chaudhary.
The I-T department is also questioning Devendra Mukhiya, allegedly an expert in blackmailing; Bhim Singh, a businessman; Basant Bhattacharya, a section officer in the state mines and geology department, and Arun Srivastava, Koda’s personal secretary while he was chief minister.
