Madhu Koda, an independent MLA, who emerged as the consensus candidate of UPA, on Thursday met Jharkhand Governor Syed Sibte Razi and staked claim to form a new government after the fall of the Arjun Munda-led NDA ministry in the state.

Koda, accompanied by RJD chief Lalu Prasad and JMM President Shibu Soren met Razi and gave a list of forty-three supporting MLAs.

Koda is one of the four former ministers in the Arjun Munda government, who resigned and withdrew support to it on September 5, reducing it to a minority.
