A woman was hospitalised after being injured when armed miscreants started firing indiscriminately at a house at Nalbari village.

Assam DGP Jayanta Narayan Choudhury who visited Kokrajhar said preventive steps have been taken to control the situation in Kokrajhar.

"The main concern is illegal weapons. There are two types of weapons in the hands of miscreants - sophisticated arms and countrymade weapons. We have started a drive to seize illegal weapons," he said.
