KVS Day celebrated

THE FOUNDATION Day of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), Bhopal, was celebrated at Kendriya Vidyalaya No 1 today. KVS, an autonomous body, set up by the Union Ministry of Education in 1965, completed 41 successful years today.

THE FOUNDATION Day of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), Bhopal, was celebrated at Kendriya Vidyalaya No 1 today. KVS, an autonomous body, set up by the Union Ministry of Education in 1965, completed 41 successful years today.

The chief guest for the occasion was Education Officer, Regional Office, Bhopal, A P Bhalla. Administrative Officer Balaji Rao and R C Verma, AAO, were the other special guests.

The programme started with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed by the Saraswati Vandana, invoking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati. Thereafter a cake was cut to commemorate this milestone as the children joyfully joined in the celebrations singing “Happy Birthday KVS”.

KV No 1 Principal Sunil Shrivastava administered the oath wherein all promised to uphold the high ideals and values which KVS envisages.

Thereafter a short cultural programme was organised. Alka Jain and Kalpana Shrivastava, teachers of KV 1, enumerated the achievements and accomplishments of KVS in the years gone by while S K D Shivesh recited a beautiful poem.

The students too enthralled al those present with their song and dance programmes. Ayush Upadhyay of class X mesmerised the audience with his dance item. The orchestra programme by the students of class XII was a treat to all those present. The young musicians played the latest numbers, thus entertaining all.

Chief guest A P Bhalla blessed the children and encouraged them to do well in life, aiming always for the best. She said that the students of Kendriya Vidyalaya should be role models who others may look up to.

She also said that they should live up to the high ideals laid down by KVS. The vote of thanks was proposed by K Dara.
