As the House met at 1530 hrs following adjournment earlier over the George Fernandes' issue, Ssecretary General PDT Achary said the House would meet at 1600 hrs.

However, as there were not enough members at the scheduled time, he announced that the House would now meet on Monday.

This is the first time in this session that the Lok Sabha was adjourned for lack of quorum. The lower House of Parliament needs a minimum of 10 per cent of its total strength of 543 to be present for transacting any business.
