"The UPA government wants to get a new bill passed in the Parliament but it could not do so because of BJP which had stalled the proceedings during the last two sessions," Babbar, who is a Congress MP from this constituency, said in Firozabad.

To a question, Babbar said it was not right to compare the land acquisition in Congress-ruled Maharashtra for setting up a nuclear plant and in Bhatta Parsaul in Uttar Pradesh for private builders.
