'Land acquisition bill could not be brought in due to BJP'
Congress MP Raj Babbar on Thursday alleged that the land acquisition (Amendment) bill could not be brought in the Parliament during the last two sessions because Opposition BJP stalled proceedings for days together.
"The UPA government wants to get a new bill passed in the Parliament but it could not do so because of BJP which had stalled the proceedings during the last two sessions," Babbar, who is a Congress MP from this constituency, said in Firozabad.
To a question, Babbar said it was not right to compare the land acquisition in Congress-ruled Maharashtra for setting up a nuclear plant and in Bhatta Parsaul in Uttar Pradesh for private builders.
