Laxity won't be tolerated, says Varanasi SSP

Newly appointed SSP of Varanasi says all necessary steps would be initiated to improve the law and order situation in the city, reports Bharat Kumar.

Newly appointed SSP S B Shirodker in Varanasi on Monday said that laxity in duty by policemen would not be tolerated.

Each cop in his area would be responsible to improve the law and order situation, he added.

Shirodker, who took over as new SSP on Monday, said it would be done to instill a sense of security in the people.

Talking to reporters, he said all necessary steps would be initiated to improve the law and order situation.

It would be the responsibility of policemen to improve the traffic situation in the district, he added.

Before being transferred to Varanasi, Shirodker was in Barabanki where he was working as SP. Immediately after coming to Varanasi, he went to Kashi Vishwanath and Kal Bhairav temples and took charge of his office in the afternoon.

The SSP met all the circle officers and station officers and got acquainted with the law and order situation of the district.
