'LeT continues to harbour plans for terror attack in Goa'

In a written reply tabled during the ongoing state legislative assembly session Naik said that there was alert in the state after inputs listing out possibility of terrorists targeting Goa was expressed by sleuths.

He said that the terror possibility was looming large during the month of December 2008 to January 2009 close to the New Year.

The Home Minister said that the inputs received were general in nature for the coastal belt wherein Goa's name was specificaly mentioned.

Naik said that regular review meeting at the level of Home Minister and Chief Minister were undertaken during the heightened security days and necessary measures were implemented.

"There was constant liaisons between Goa Police, Ministry of Home Affairs, Intelligence agencies and security forces," the Home Minister added.
