Liberal Linda Reid elected in Richmond East

Liberal candidate Linda Reid was declared elected in Richmond East after defeating NDP candidate Gian Sihota. Gian Sihota retired after 31 years as a transit operator and CAW union representative. A strong advocate for human rights and social justice, he served on the Board of Registration for Social Workers of BC.

A strong advocate for human rights and social justice, he served on the Board of Registration for Social Workers of BC.

Sihota has a Bachelor of Education and a Masters’ degree in Economics. He was a marathon runner and still runs to stay healthy. Gian is married with three children and one grandchild, all of whom were born and raised in Richmond.
