Singh, the owner of Devgarh, a palace-hotel in Rajasthan, has never met the couple. But he spent most of Friday evening denying the two were staying in his hotel.

He says the reason for the confusion is that the name of his hotel sounds similar to Devigarh, a hotel close to Udaipur where Liz and Arun checked in on Thursday.

Udaipur is used to stars descending on it. In recent times, the city saw Raveena Tandon get married to Anil Thadani and according to the local rumour mill, Liz and Arun also have wedding plans.

While hotel authorities have denied organising a marriage reception, which was reported in some sections of the local press, they say that the couple are there to celebrate Arun’s 41st birthday. Sources say that only close friends and family are attending the “birthday party,” for which the entire hotel has been booked. Incidentally, Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Yash Chopra are among the guests, according to a Jaipur travel agent.

Liz and Arun were introduced to each other by Arun’s ex-wife, Italian model Valentina Pedroni, at a party in St. Moritz, Switzerland. Pedroni discovered they were seeing each other 18 months later, according to Hello magazine. News of an impending wedding has been doing the rounds for the last two years, but has been put off repeatedly as Arun went about getting a divorce from Pedroni.

And, now, Devigarh might provide the perfect backdrop for another Udaipur celeb-wedding.
