Lohan, Hilton bad examples: Josh Hartnett

Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton are promoting a life of self-obsession and shallowness among the youngsters, says the actor.

Actor Josh Hartnett has slammed Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton for being a bad example to their fans.

According to Contactmusic.com, Hartnet fears the young actresses are promoting a life of self-obsession and shallowness and young people are aspiring to be like them.

He says: "What scares me with pop culture is that people are starting to think that's the way they should be. Looking at my younger brother and sister and their friends, seeing my little sister's friends looking, like, to Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton - I just don't think that's anything to strive for.

"I don't think those girls are too happy. And it's like the culture is so focused on a more self-oriented, kind of luck-based mentality. It's just like get what's good for you."
