?Look at 2007 with purpose?

PRIME MINISTER Manmohan Singh on Sunday said India enters 2007 with a sense of confidence and purpose and asked the people to "sustain the upward curve of economic prosperity".

PRIME MINISTER Manmohan Singh on Sunday said India enters 2007 with a sense of confidence and purpose and asked the people to "sustain the upward curve of economic prosperity".

Greeting the countrymen, he said "The New Year gives us an opportunity to dedicate ourselves to the consolidation of gains of the past and work for new horizons of progress and development."

Singh said, "We need to sustain the upward curve of economic prosperity, which should be inclusive and bring succour to the underprivileged and weaker sections of society."

President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, in his message, called on the countrymen to spread happiness by helping the needy. "On the occasion of the New Year, I extend my greetings and best wishes to all my people in India and abroad," he said in his message.

Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat said, "The New Year begins amidst high hopes and expectations, which shall strengthen our steadfastness to strive towards a truly peaceful prosperous and happy New Year."
