A boy and a girl died on Friday allegedly by drinking poison after their family denied to give consent to their marriage at Ashannagar near Krishnagar in Nadia district.

A boy and a girl died on Friday allegedly by drinking poison after their family denied to give consent to their marriage at Ashannagar near Krishnagar in Nadia district.

"Kamal Biswas (22) and Seuli Barui (18) drank poison last evening and died at Shaktinagar Hospital this morning," Additional Superintendent of Police, Annappa E said.

The duo were rushed to the hospital after found to be in serious condition with froth coming out of their mouth at a ground near their residences, he said.

They died in the hospital this morning, he said.
