Lucknow people protest in Munnabhai style

Inspired by the Sanjay Dutt starrer, residents sported Gandhi caps and distributed roses to register their protest.

, residents of Lucknow, on Thursday, staged a novel protest against opening of a wine shop near a temple in the busy Rana Pratap Marg.

Sporting Gandhi caps and carrying rose flowers in their hands, the protestors marched towards the collectorate and met senior administrative officials to press their demand for removal of the wine shop.

They offered rose flowers to passerby besides a memorandum containing their demands to draw their attention.

One of the protestors, Shiv Kumar Lakhana, said they were inspired by Lage Raho Munna Bhai in which, Sanjay Dutt adopts Gandhian means to register his protest.

Police detained about 20 protestors but released them later. The protestors met Additional District Magistrate, City, JP Singh and submitted a memorandum along with a rose.
