Maddy, the replacement

Amitabh Bachchan and not R Madhavan, was the first choice to anchor the new reality show, Big Money.

I’ve just been informed that it was Amitabh Bachchan and not R Madhavan who was the first choice to anchor the new reality show, Big Money.

According to my jasoos, those behind the show personally wanted to work with Big B and approached him for the show, then titled, One In A Million. But agreement could not be reached on certain aspects of the format and the idea was put on the backburner for a while.

However, when the channelwallahs came up with the concept of their new show, BigMoney, Bachchan was approached again, but he declined to sign it on.

So, after some brainstorming, the channel folks decided to rope in a younger face with some experience of the small screen… and they zeroed in on Maddy for it.
