A DELEGATION of Bharatiya Janata Mahila Morcha met the Divisional Commissioner today and submitted a memorandum addressed to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh to protest against increasing prices of essential commodities, including wheat.

Led by Mahila Morcha City leaders Saroj Aggarwal, Krishna Solanki and Padma Bhoje, the delegation reached the Divisional Commissioner’s office in the morning and submitted the memorandum demanding immediate action to stem the increasing prices of essential commodities in the country.

Not only had prices of essential commodities increased manifold since the Congress-led UPA Government come to power at the Centre, but the essential items had reached the hands of black-marketers, the memorandum said.

The minimum price of wheat has spiraled from Rs 5 at the time of BJP Government to Rs 10 under the Congress Government.
Now, the Agriculture Minister is talking about importing wheat, but in fact the Minister should take action against black-marketers immediately, the memorandum said.
