Malegaon blasts key suspect held

Shabbir Batterywala, suspected to be the mastermind of the blasts, has been arrested by the Anti-Terrorist Squad.
Shabbir Batterywala, suspected to be the mastermind of the Malegaon blasts that killed 31 people, was today arrested by the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) for the terrorist attack.
This was the second arrest in the case, the first being that of Noor-ul-Hoda Samsudoha.

Batterywala was already in police custody as he was arrested by the Crime Branch soon after the July 11 train bombings in Mumbai and booked under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.
He was today remanded afresh to the custody of ATS till November 6 by a court in Malegaon, ATS sources said.
Four blasts had rocked Malegaon on September eight.
