Rupa, who along with two others allegedly raped the woman at her Yadavpur home, was on the run. The assault had driven the woman to hang herself later that day, her family members claimed.

“One of the accused men has died in an accident,” JS Hooda, the district police chief, said.

Rupa’s body was found in Hodal, around 80km from Faridabad, late on Thursday. The others accused, Kanwar and Harbir, are still at large.

The woman, an arts graduate, was at home in Yadavpur, around 45km from here, when the men went in and raped her.
