The accused, Sunder Sagar working with builder Yashpal Verma for the last six years, withdrew Rs31 lakh on July 19 from the builder's account, SSP Raghubir Lal said.
Sagar informed the builder that he had been kidnapped and taken to the Chambal ravines, he added.
Police traced him through his mobile phone and on Friday found his location near Dankaur.
He was arrested from his house and the money was also recovered from him, Lal said.
