Upset over marital discord, a man jumped to death as hundreds of people, including policemen watched in horror.

Upset over marital discord, a man jumped to death from a three-storied building in Andhra Pradesh's Karimnagar district Thursday as hundreds of people, including policemen and media persons watched in horror.

Abdul Rahim, 37, had perched himself on the top of the building in a busy commercial area in the town and threatened to commit suicide.

Policemen, firefighting personnel and local officials reached the spot and tried to dissuade him from taking the extreme step.

However he jumped, shocking all those present. He died on the spot.

Police said investigations revealed that a divorce case pending in the court forced him to end his life.

Rahim, a taxi driver hailing from Gagillapur village in the district, had differences with his wife who was seeking divorce.
